Of course, any Scotsman with some semblance of tribal pride conversed in his cultural tongue, grinding out words in the jagged highlander fashion. Everyone spoke this way, as the climate and times demanded it. That which eludes me is my worst enemy, or so I am told. Acting on this revelation, I conclude that I am surrounded by my worst enemies at every given venue of my existence, a prospect which both bothers and amuses my greatly. I am beset from countless angles by inscrutable aggressors, agents of the unknown who seek to do me much harm.
